This isn't from Vonderplanitz, I just thought I'd share this.
What causes lactose intolerance?
Lactose intolerance is caused by a lack of lactase in your gut, an enzyme produced by several organisms including some species of mold and yeast. While most people live and die thinking lactose intolerance is something genetic they were born with and can't change, we'll cover a method that WILL fix this issue (share with your lactose intolerant family members!!)
What we can do and how it works
Your gut microbiome is FILLED with different bacteria competing with each other and keeping each other in check. The issue arises when lactase producing bacteria get outcompeted by other microbes that consume other types of food and produce other types of enzymes (if you eat primal you probably won't have this issue, only if you eat processed slop every day).
What we'll do to fix this issue is simple: consume fermented foods with lactase producing bacteria like kefir, raw milk (milk doesn't produce lactase, but since it isn't sterile it collects bacteria that does), and live-culture yogurt.
Conclusion
Kefir and yogurt are your best bet here, as they not only give your body lactase, they also give your body lactase producing live bacteria that'll reproduce and compete with other bacteria in your gut, successfully curing lactose intolerance.
